A 1999 production, "Notting Hill' has rocked up the romantic films' world. Although it's classified as a romantic social comedy, no one argues about its ability to attract spectators. It amazes all who watch it and still you can never do it once! It's an authentic romance that brings you very special and genial feelings.

The film tells us about William Thacker, played by Hugh Grant, a bookshop owner in Notting Hill, a small part of London. His life turns upside down when Hollywood's most attractive superstar, Anna Scott, played by Julia Roberts, walks into his small shop and simply buys a book. William, who has failed in his love life, is somehow similar to Anna, who hates the restrictions of her job, which explains why something unusual happens between them and how they fall for each other so deeply.

William and Anna, though both have the same strange feeling, they never confess it until some troubles occur, when the problems of a superstar's life start to appear. How will William deal with such things? Will Anna accept to change her life routine for him? And will their hearts let them down again?

This spectacular film comes from the great screenwriter Richard Curtis, who has presented the wonderful and unforgettable comedy (also starring Hugh Grant) 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'. In 'Notting Hill', Curtis has created a frank story and an outstanding depiction of the lives of the rich and famous and the price they pay for success. Added to that, the Original Sound Track of the film came very suitable and convincing. By intriguing tracks like 'When You Say Nothing At All' performed by Ronan Keating and 'She' performed by Elvis Costello, the romance has been spiced up and the love shown has been deepened.

Finally, 'Notting Hill' has proved that romantic films can have a light sense of humor and still keep the message of love, which can do miracles. It will surely be your favourite film, if you are a fan of romance and great drama.
